Police Solve Major Theft Case in Guwahati, Arrest One Suspect with Over Rs 5 Lakh in Cash and Stolen Items
Guwahati, June 20, 2024: In a significant breakthrough, Guwahati police successfully solved a theft case, apprehending a suspect with over Rs 5 lakh in cash and other stolen items. Officials confirmed the details on Thursday.
A team of investigators from Paltan Bazaar police station, operating under the Central Guwahati Police District (CGPD), conducted a raid on Wednesday. This action was based on several theft complaints. The raid took place in the Kamarpatty locality near Fancy Bazar in Guwahati, resulting in the arrest of one suspect.
The arrested individual was identified as Krishna Das. During the raid, officials seized several items, including a blue helmet allegedly used for breaking into homes. Additionally, the police recovered Rs 5,17,030 and a mobile phone from Das, believed to be stolen property.
