STF Apprehends Two in Major Drug Bust, Seizes Suspected Heroin
Guwahati, June 26, 2024: In a significant operation, the Special Task Force (STF) of Assam Police conducted a raid at the 2 No. Railway Gate under the jurisdiction of Panbazar Police Station on the afternoon of June 25. The raid led to the apprehension of two individuals suspected of drug peddling.
The arrested suspects have been identified as Mrs. Parul Devnath from Paltan Bazar, Kamrup (M) and Mr. Babul Choudhary from Kamala-Bagan, Narengi, Kamrup (M). During the operation, law enforcement officers seized 62 vials containing suspected heroin, with a total weight of 82.5 grams.
This operation is part of the Assam Police’s ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and ensure a drug-free Assam. The authorities remain vigilant and committed to eradicating drug-related activities in the state.
