Manipur Police Recover Arms and Ammunition in Churachandpur and Tengnoupal Districts
Desk Report, June 29, 2024: Manipur Police have intensified operations and area domination in the Churachandpur and Tengnoupal districts of Manipur. These efforts have led to significant recoveries of arms and ammunition.
In Churachandpur, search operations resulted in the recovery of an improvised long-range heavy mortar and three shells from the Samulamlan, Songphel, and Lamsai areas. Another operation in New Bijang yielded further discoveries: two SLRs with magazines, eight 12-bore single-barrel rifles, one .315 rifle with a telescopic sight, 59 rounds of live ammunition, one improvised heavy mortar, and four radio sets.
Additionally, in the Tengnoupal district, police operations in fringe and vulnerable areas uncovered a fired two-inch shell from Leithokching.
These operations underscore the ongoing efforts of Manipur Police to maintain security and stability in the region.
