Guwahati Police Recover ₹12.74 Lakh in Ongoing Online Heist Investigation
Guwahati, July 05, 2024: In a significant development, the Cyber Police Station (Cyber PS) of Guwahati Police has recovered an additional ₹12,74,931.47 in connection with an ongoing investigation into a substantial online fraud case. This follows decisive actions taken after a victim reported a loss of ₹1.3 crores due to a sophisticated cyber heist.
The latest recovery brings the total amount credited back to the victim’s bank account to ₹35,24,931.47. Authorities remain optimistic about the prospects of further recoveries, with efforts continuing to trace and reclaim the remaining defrauded funds.
Law enforcement officials emphasized the importance of vigilance in online transactions and reiterated their commitment to addressing cybercrime with rigor. The case serves as a stark reminder of the growing threat posed by online fraud and the need for robust cybersecurity measures.

A team from Cyber PS made further recovery of ₹12,74,931.47/- after the amount was put on hold following action taken post victim falling prey to an online heist of ₹1.3 crores. A total of ₹35,24,931.47/- has so far been credited back to victim’s bank account.
