IWAI Ship Collision at Dhubri Jogomaya Ghat Leads to Sinking of Two Boats
Dhubri, July 22, 2024: An IWAI ship from Fakirganj collided with several parked boats at Dhubri Jogomaya Ghat, causing a serious accident. The collision led to the sinking of two boats, endangering the lives of hundreds of passengers.
The ship hit multiple boats at the ghat, and as a result, two of them sank. Miraculously, hundreds of passengers survived the accident. However, over 100 passengers were aboard a single boat during the incident.
Despite the severe collision, no fatalities were reported. However, safety concerns arose due to the boatmen’s lack of life jackets and the overloading of passengers on the boats. This incident highlights the urgent need for improved safety measures in passenger boat operations.
By addressing these issues, authorities can prevent similar accidents in the future, ensuring the safety of passengers.
