Major Drug Bust in Assam: 30,000 Yaba Tablets Seized in Kathakal
Desk Report, July 28, 2024: Based on credible intelligence, Cachar Police conducted a special operation in Kathakal today. They apprehended an individual in possession of 30,000 Yaba tablets. Additionally, a vehicle used for transportation was seized.
The illegal consignment is estimated to have a market value of ₹9 crore. This significant seizure highlights the ongoing issue of drug trafficking in the region.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma praised the effort by Cachar Police on his ‘X’ platform. He stated, “Kudos to Assam Police for their continued efforts for a #DrugFreeAssam.”
