Anand Mishra Joins Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj Party
Desk Report, July 31, 2024: Former Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Anand Mishra, who resigned from the civil services to pursue social service through politics, has joined Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj Party. After his resignation, Mishra contested the Lok Sabha general elections as an independent candidate from Bihar’s Buxar constituency, where he was defeated by Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) candidate Sudhakar Singh.
Jan Suraaj, led by political strategist Prashant Kishor, aims to transition into a full-fledged political party later this year. Kishor, known for his significant role in various election campaigns across India, has announced that he will not seek any position within the party.
The entry of Mishra into Jan Suraaj is seen as a strategic move to strengthen the party’s base in Bihar. As the political landscape continues to evolve, the impact of this new alignment will be closely watched by political analysts and voters alike.
