Guwahati Police Intercept Cattle Smuggling Attempt, Arrest Two Suspects
Guwahati, August 05, 2024: This morning, the East Guwahati Police District team from Jorabat Out Post, Basistha Police Station, intercepted a vehicle attempting to smuggle 14 live cattle into Meghalaya. The vehicle, with registration number AS 12 BC 9241, was stopped during a routine check.
The police arrested two suspects, Abdul Kashem, 23, and Sahadat Alam, 22, both residents of Dalgaon. They were charged with cattle smuggling and taken into custody for further investigation. The prompt action by the police highlights their commitment to preventing illegal activities and protecting animal welfare.
