Chief Minister Sarma Reviews Nijut Moina Scheme Preparations in Video Conference
Guwahati, July 06, 2024: Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma chaired a video conference with all District Commissioners to oversee final preparations for the rollout of Nijut Moina, Assam’s ambitious scheme aimed at enhancing the Gross Enrollment Ratio (GER) and curbing child marriage. The scheme, set to benefit 10 lakh girl students with monetary academic assistance, will commence with the distribution of forms on August 8.
During the conference, the Chief Minister emphasized the need for a seamless rollout, instructing all District Commissioners to ensure that students receive their instalments regularly. Education Minister Dr. Ranoj Pegu also attended the meeting, underscoring the government’s commitment to the scheme’s success.
Nijut Moina represents a significant step forward in Assam’s efforts to support female education and prevent child marriages, marking a pivotal moment for the state’s educational and social development.
