Bhaskar Kalita, Rangia, February 01, 2024: The All Assam Students Union (AASU) led a vigorous protest rally in Rangia, Kamrup district, denouncing the state government’s decision against the mother tongue as the medium of instruction. The rally, organized from the Rangia AASU office, saw the participation of leaders from the Kamrup district committee of the organization.
Amidst the rally, the atmosphere reverberated with resounding slogans, echoing the fervent demands of the protestors. AASU’s central office secretary, Bhavjyoti Deka, also joined the program, emphasizing the urgent need to revoke the decision. The leaders asserted their determination to escalate protests across the state if the decision is not rescinded promptly.
The protest underscores AASU’s steadfast stance in safeguarding the rights of students and upholding the significance of mother tongue as a medium of education.
