Assam Police Arrest Another Accused in TLC 2.0 Crypto Scam Case

Guwahati; March 07, 2025: In a significant development in the TLC 2.0 cryptocurrency scam case, Assam Police have arrested another suspect linked to the fraudulent network. The case, registered under SSM PS Case No. 31/25, led investigators to Mohabur Rahaman Ahmed, a 29-year-old resident of Tumni Simlakandi in South Salmara Mankachar district, Assam.

A special police team, supervised by the Additional Superintendent of Police Headquarters and led by Sub Inspector Jayanta Rajkhowa of South Salmara Police Station, apprehended Ahmed on March 6. He was taken into custody for further interrogation regarding his role in the scam.

During questioning, authorities confirmed Ahmed’s active involvement in the crypto scam. He was identified as a downline member of arrested accused Nur Alom Ahmed and Akhiruzzaman Ahmed, both currently in police custody. Additionally, he was an upline associate of another suspect, Ibrahim Ali. His role in the scam included handling financial transactions and recruiting individuals into the fraudulent cryptocurrency scheme.

During the search operation, police seized multiple items linked to the scam, including:

  • One mobile handset
  • One laptop
  • Ten ATM cards
  • Two bank passbooks
  • Five cheque books
  • Two ATM swipe machines
  • Cash amounting to Rs. 2.5 lakh

Following his arrest, Ahmed has been sent to judicial custody, with police seeking remand for further questioning. Investigators are working to uncover additional links in the cyber fraud network and identify more individuals involved in the scheme.

The crackdown on the TLC 2.0 scam continues as authorities intensify efforts to dismantle the fraudulent cryptocurrency operation and bring all culprits to justice. Further updates on the case are expected as the investigation progresses.
