STF Assam Seizes 416 Grams of Heroin in Late-Night Anti-Drug Operation in Guwahati

Guwahati: In a decisive move against drug trafficking, Assam’s Special Task Force (STF) conducted a late-night operation in Guwahati. Acting on intelligence inputs, STF officers raided a hotel in the bustling Paltan Bazar area. During the operation, they apprehended four suspected drug traffickers and seized 416 grams of heroin from their possession.

The confiscated heroin was packed in multiple small containers, likely intended for distribution. The suspects were detained for further questioning to uncover details about their network and potential links to larger smuggling syndicates.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma praised the STF’s relentless efforts in combating drug crimes. In a social media post on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), he stated, “We will continue our mission of #AssamAgainstDrugs to save our youths from the vice of contraband substances.”

This operation is part of the broader state-wide campaign, “Assam Against Drugs,” aimed at eradicating the drug menace. Assam Police, under the Chief Minister’s leadership, has intensified anti-narcotics operations in recent months, targeting traffickers and breaking smuggling chains.
