Karimganj Police Seize 102 kg Ganja, 4,000 Yaba Tablets in Twin Anti-Narcotics Operations
Desk Report, September 03, 2024: In a determined crackdown on narcotics, Karimganj Police recently executed two successful operations, leading to the seizure of substantial quantities of illegal drugs. The first operation uncovered 46 packets of ganja, meticulously hidden within a vehicle’s secret chamber. The total weight of the seized ganja amounted to 102 kilograms, marking a significant victory in the ongoing battle against drug trafficking in the region.
The second operation, conducted shortly after, was equally impactful. Officers intercepted a consignment of 4,000 Yaba tablets, a potent methamphetamine-based drug, along with ₹5,00,000 in cash. This operation highlights the persistent efforts of Karimganj Police to dismantle drug networks operating within the area, targeting both the distribution of narcotics and the financial gains of those involved.
As a direct outcome of these operations, three individuals have been apprehended and are currently under investigation. The swift action by Karimganj Police not only disrupts the illegal drug trade but also sends a strong message about the region’s commitment to curbing the spread of narcotics.
