Guwahati, July 30, 2024: The Chief Electoral Officer of Assam has notified the upcoming bye-election for the Assam Legislative Assembly, set to take place in five constituencies: 11-Dholai (SC), 31-Sidli (ST), 32-Bongaigaon, 77-Behali, and 88-Samaguri.
The electoral rolls from 2021 will be updated and utilized for these bye-elections, adhering to the pre-delimitation boundaries of the constituencies. The schedule for the electoral roll updates is as follows:
– Publication of Integrated Draft Electoral Roll: July 30, 2024 (Tuesday)
– Period for Filing Claims and Objections: July 30, 2024 (Tuesday) to August 10, 2024 (Saturday)
– Special Campaign Dates: August 3, 2024 (Saturday) and August 4, 2024 (Sunday)
– Disposal of Claims and Objections: By August 19, 2024 (Monday)
– Final Publication of Electoral Roll: August 20, 2024 (Tuesday)
