Assam Chief Minister Reviews Key Infrastructure Projects in Guwahati, Emphasizes Urban Development
Guwahati, June 17, 2024: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma conducted an on-site inspection of several critical infrastructure projects in Guwahati today, underscoring the state’s commitment to rapid urban development and modernisation.
Among the projects visited was the construction site of the new permanent office complex for the Commissioner of Police at Khanapara. This state-of-the-art complex, which is anticipated to be operational by August 2025, aims to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of law enforcement in the region. During the inspection, Commissioner of Police Diganta Barah, IPS, along with other senior officials, provided a detailed briefing to the Hon’ble Chief Minister.
In addition, Chief Minister Sarma inspected the New Auditorium at Srimanta Sankaradev Kalakshetra, where he reviewed the progress of two significant projects: a 5,000-seat auditorium and an 800-seat auditorium. These facilities are poised to become major cultural hubs, supporting large-scale events and gatherings.
The Chief Minister also visited the New District Commissioner Office, further assessing the advancement of infrastructure intended to streamline administrative operations and better serve the public.
The inspections highlight the Assam government’s dedication to bolstering the state’s infrastructure, ensuring the timely completion of key projects, and enhancing the quality of services provided to its citizens.
