CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Reviews BCPL Operations in Dibrugarh, Assures State Support
March 23, 2025: Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma visited the Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited (BCPL) facility in Lepetkata, Dibrugarh, to assess its operations. During the visit, he inspected the central control room, warehouse, and production units, reviewing the company’s efficiency and future plans.
The CM discussed BCPL’s expansion plans, product diversification, and operational challenges with company officials. He assured full state government support to further strengthen the petrochemical plant, a vital industry in Assam.
BCPL, a long-awaited project in Assam, was dedicated to the nation by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2016. The plant has achieved 107% operational efficiency, highlighting the skilled workforce and Assam’s growing business-friendly environment.
The state government aims to boost industrial growth, making Assam a hub for petrochemical production. The CM’s visit reinforces the administration’s commitment to fostering economic development and creating employment opportunities.
