Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Evaluates Infrastructure and Welfare Projects in Dhemaji, Dhakuakhana
March 23, 2025: Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma conducted a detailed review of 274 ongoing development projects in Dhemaji and Dhakuakhana during his visit to Dibrugarh. The projects cover multiple sectors, including road infrastructure, flood mitigation, public buildings, and key welfare schemes such as free housing and ration distribution.
Chairing a review meeting at the Dibrugarh CM Secretariat, Sarma assessed the progress of major initiatives in Dhakuakhana. These include the implementation of Assam Cabinet-approved schemes, the tendering process for the Faatbihu Cultural Complex, and flood protection measures along the Brahmaputra dyke. He also examined the planned upgrade of the Sub-Divisional Hospital into a 200-bed District Hospital and the construction of the Bishnuram Doley Sports Complex, Dhakuakhana Youth Centre, and a new B.Ed. College.
The review further focused on improving road connectivity under the Asom Mala and Mukhyamantrir Unnoto Paki Path Nirman Achani schemes. Other key areas included solar irrigation, power distribution, rural development, and education infrastructure.
CM Sarma instructed officials to ensure timely execution of all projects and emphasized expediting land acquisition for smooth implementation. He urged the authorities to maintain efficiency and accountability to meet the developmental goals of the region.
