Japan-India Intellectual Conclave: Assam CM Pushes for Economic and Workforce Collaboration
Guwahati; February 07, 2025: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma engaged in discussions with H.E. ONO Keiichi, Japan’s Ambassador to India, along with a delegation of Japanese business leaders at the 5th Japan-India Intellectual Conclave. The event, held in Guwahati, aimed to strengthen economic ties between Assam and Japan.
During the interaction, CM Sarma reaffirmed Assam’s commitment to setting up a Japanese Industrial Park in the state. This initiative is expected to boost investment and create employment opportunities. Additionally, he explored short-term job prospects for skilled Assamese workers in Japan, emphasizing the potential for workforce collaboration.
The Japanese delegation included distinguished business leaders and experts who discussed various investment opportunities in Assam. The dialogue focused on economic partnerships, industrial growth, and cultural cooperation.
The conclave marked a significant step toward fostering deeper ties between Assam and Japan, enhancing trade, investment, and skill development opportunities.
