Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Reviews Key Projects to Boost State Growth

Guwahati: Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma convened several meetings with top officials to discuss critical developmental issues last night. The discussions centered on streamlining government processes, industrialization, and advancing infrastructure projects across Assam.

To enhance efficiency, the Chief Minister deliberated on creating a user-friendly web portal. This platform aims to simplify the transfer process for state government employees, ensuring transparency and convenience. He emphasized the importance of cohesive departmental coordination to implement “Advantage Assam 2.0,” a flagship initiative designed to attract investment and drive economic growth.

Dr. Sarma also focused on establishing an Industrial Estate to accelerate the state’s industrialization efforts. This initiative aims to create more opportunities and boost Assam’s economic potential.

Additionally, the Chief Minister reviewed the ambitious Guwahati Riverfront project. Expected to transform the city’s landscape, this project holds promise for boosting tourism and urban aesthetics. Updates on ongoing infrastructure projects, such as new flyovers, the Guwahati Smart City initiative, and the Saraighat Ranasmriti Stambha, were also discussed in detail.

The progress of the Kopili Hydroelectric Project, a key energy initiative, was also reviewed. This project is vital for meeting the state’s growing electricity demands and promoting renewable energy.

With a clear vision for Assam’s future, Dr. Sarma directed all departments to work collaboratively. He urged them to ensure timely completion of projects, which are critical for the state’s development.
