Assam CM Reviews Guwahati Water Supply Projects, Orders Priority Resolution of Issues
Guwahati, August 13, 2024: Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma recently held a key meeting with officials from South Guwahati, South Central, North Guwahati Water Supply Projects (WSP), and the JICA-assisted Guwahati WSP. The meeting focused on reviewing the current status of these water supply projects and addressing several pressing issues.
Chief among the concerns were permanent road restoration after pipeline laying and testing activities, and the construction of valve chambers. The Chief Minister emphasized the urgency of these matters, directing all relevant departments to collaborate and resolve the issues promptly.
Dr. Sarma’s directive underscores the state’s commitment to improving Guwahati’s water infrastructure. By prioritizing these concerns, the government aims to ensure the timely completion and functionality of the water supply projects for the benefit of the city’s residents.
