Countdown to Khel Maharan 2.0 Begins: Assam’s Premier Sports Event Set for November 2024

Guwahati: The countdown to Assam’s much-awaited sports event, Khel Maharan 2.0, has officially begun. The Department of Sports & Youth Welfare, Government of Assam, announced that this grand event will kick off on 13th November 2024. Building on last year’s success, Khel Maharan aims to expand its reach further into the grassroots, offering an inclusive platform for participants to compete and showcase their talents.

The initiative, spearheaded by Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, promises an even bigger and better experience for sports enthusiasts across Assam. The event focuses on encouraging active participation from communities at all levels, ensuring that everyone gets a chance to shine in a competitive sports environment.

Khel Maharan 2.0 features a wide range of sports disciplines, catering to various interests and skills. The highlighted sports include Athletics (100m, 200m, 400m races, and long jump), Football, Kabaddi, Volleyball, Chess, Swimming, and an exciting addition – Road Cycling with Traditional Cycles.
