STF Assam Police Conducts Raid at Koinadhara, Apprehends Two Drug Peddlers
Guwahati, June 23, 2024: In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, the Special Task Force (STF) of Assam Police conducted a successful raid near the Koinadhara traffic point under the jurisdiction of Basisitha Police Station, Kamrup(M) on Wednesday. The operation led to the apprehension of two drug peddlers and the seizure of a substantial quantity of illicit items.
During the raid, the STF recovered 40 vials containing suspected heroin, weighing a total of 54 grams. Additionally, cash amounting to Rs. 2500 and two mobile phones were seized from the site.
The apprehended individuals have been identified as Raju Deka, also known as Petla, aged 34, residing at Rajib-Gandhi Path, Koinadhara, Guwahati, Kamrup (M), and Chandan Chettri, also known as Kancha, aged 55, from Khanapara, Kamrup (M).
Following their arrest, Raju Deka led the authorities to a rented room located at Koinadhara, Rajib-Gandhi Path, where further searches were conducted. The STF seized a .32 pistol-like metallic gas lighter and three keypad mobile phones from the premises.
The Assam Police have reiterated their commitment to combating drug trafficking and ensuring the safety and security of the community.
