Assam Police’s Anti-Narcotics Operations Yield Rs 18 Crore Drug Seizure
Desk Report, May 03, 2024: While the Assam Police made significant progress against drugs, on May 2 it made a major breakthrough with two separate operations, resulting in the seizure of drugs worth Rs 18 crore.
The Cachar police had an impressive boost, seizing 572 grams of heroin and arresting one suspect. Meanwhile, Golaghat police seized 3 kg of heroin and detained four suspects.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took to ‘X’ to appreciate the commendable efforts of the police. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said “Well done Team Assam! #AssamAgainstDrugs.”
The successful operations mark an important step in the ongoing fight against drug trafficking, demonstrating the country’s unwavering commitment to addressing the menace.
