Assam Government Reshuffles District Commissioners in Major Administrative Overhaul
Guwahati, September 6, 2024: In a significant move aimed at optimizing public service delivery, the Government of Assam, under the directive of the Governor, has announced a wide-ranging reshuffle of District Commissioners across the state. The Department of Personnel (Personnel-A), Assam Secretariat, issued the official notification today, detailing the new appointments and transfers.
Key Transfers and Appointments:
1. Smti J. Keerthi, IAS (RR-2013): The current District Commissioner of Kamrup and CEO of Guwahati Biotech Park and CEO, Assam Biotechnology Council, has been transferred to the role of Commissioner, Panchayat & Rural Development, Assam. She will also hold the additional charge as MD of Swachha Bharat Mission (Gramin).
2. Shri Rohan Kumar Jha, IAS (RR-2015): Previously serving as District Commissioner, Cachar, he has been transferred to Barpeta as District Commissioner.
3. Shri Aayush Garg, IAS (RR-2016): Former District Commissioner of Barpeta, he will now serve as District Commissioner of Sivasagar.
4. Dr. P. Uday Praveen, IAS (RR-2016): The District Commissioner of Golaghat is transferred and posted as Additional Secretary to the Government of Assam, Industries, Commerce & Public Enterprises Department.
5. Shri Mridul Yadav, IAS (RR-2017): The District Commissioner of Karimganj has been reassigned to Cachar as District Commissioner.
6. Shri Aditya Vikram Yadav, IAS (RR-2018): Serving as District Commissioner, Sivasagar, he will now take up the role of Joint Secretary to the Government of Assam, Chief Minister’s Secretariat, Dispur.
7. Smti Masanda Magdalin Pertin, IAS (RR-2018): Previously Joint Secretary to the Government of Assam, Panchayat & Rural Development and MD, ASRLM, she has been appointed as District Commissioner, Kokrajhar, and Director of Training, Bodoland Administrative Staff College, Kokrajhar. She will also hold the position of Secretary, Bodoland Territorial Region as an additional charge.
8. Shri Javir Rahul Suresh, IAS (RR-2018): District Commissioner of Udalguri, he has been moved to Dhemaji as District Commissioner.
9. Shri Pradeep Kumar Dwivedi, IAS (RR-2019): District Commissioner of Kokrajhar and Director of Training, Bodoland Administrative Staff College, Kokrajhar, has been transferred to Karimganj as District Commissioner.
10. Shri Jay Shivani, IAS (RR-2019): Commissioner, Panchayat & Rural Development and MD, Swaccha Bharat Mission (Gramin) (Addl)and Joint Secretary to the Government of Assam and Nodal Officer, Public Works (Building & NH) Department is appointed as District Commissioner of Jorhat.
11. Smti Neha Yadav, IAS (RR-2019): District Commissioner of Biswanath, she is now posted as District Commissioner, Charaideo.
12. Smti Gayatri Devidas Hyalinge, IAS (RR-2019): The District Commissioner of Lakhimpur has been transferred and posted as Joint Secretary to the Government of Assam, Finance Department.
13. Shri Deba Kumar Mishra, ACS (DR-93): The District Commissioner of Sonitpur has been reassigned as District Commissioner, Kamrup and he will also assume the role of CEO, Guwahati Biotech Park and CEO, Assam Biotechnology Council.
14. Smti Cauvery Borkakoti Sarma, ACS (DR-95): The District Commissioner of Majuli is transferred to the role of Additional Secretary to the Government of Assam, Soil Conservation Department, with additional charge as CEO, SLNA.
15. Shri Gautam Das, ACS (DR-95): Currently serving as Additional Secretary to the Government of Assam, Chief Minister’s Secretariat, Dispur, he has been promoted and transferred to Baksa as District Commissioner.
16. Shri Bidyut Bikash Bhagawati, ACS (DR-95): District Commissioner of Tamulpur, he is now appointed as District Commissioner of Hojai.
17. Shri Ratul Chandra Pathak, ACS (DR-97): Joint Secretary to the Government of Assam, Food & Public Distribution and Consumer Affairs Department, he has been transferred and posted as District Commissioner, Majuli.
18. Shri Pulak Mahanta, ACS (DR-97): The District Commissioner of Jorhat has been transferred as District Commissioner, Golaghat.
19. Shri Nibedan Das Patwary, ACS (DR-97): The District Commissioner of Charaideo has been reassigned as Joint Secretary to the Government of Assam, Panchayat & Rural Development and MD, ASRLM, with an additional charge.
20. Shri Munindra Nath Ngatey, ACS (DR-97): The District Commissioner of Darrang has been transferred as District Commissioner, Biswanath.
21. Shri Parag Kumar Kakati, ACS (DR-99): The Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad, Golaghat, has been appointed as District Commissioner of Darrang.
22. Shri Pulak Patgiri, ACS (DR-99): The Joint Secretary to the Government of Assam, School Education Department, and Secretary, Assam Higher Secondary Education Council, has been transferred as District Commissioner, Udalguri.
23. Shri Ankur Bharali, ACS (DR-99): Previously serving as District Commissioner of Dhemaji, he is now posted as District Commissioner, Sonitpur.
24. Shri Lachit Kumar Das, ACS (DR-99): The District Commissioner of Hojai has been transferred as District Commissioner, Lakhimpur.
25. Shri Pallab Mazumdar, ACS (DR-02): District Development Commissioner, Dhubri, has been reassigned as Joint Secretary to the Government of Assam, Chief Minister’s Secretariat, Dispur.
26. Shri Pankaj Chakravarty, ACS (DR-02): Joint Secretary to the Government of Assam, Indigenous Tribal Faith and Culture Department, and Director, Indigenous Tribal Faith and Culture, Assam, he has been transferred as District Commissioner, Tamulpur.
