Assam Rifles and Mizoram Police Seize Methamphetamine Tablets Worth ₹79.407 Crores in Joint Operation
Desk Report, April 07, 2024: In a significant joint operation conducted on April 5th, the Assam Rifles, in collaboration with the Mizoram Police, intercepted a substantial consignment of Methamphetamine tablets in Mizoram. The tablets, weighing a total of 26.469 kilograms and valued at approximately INR 79.407 crores, were seized at the General Area Crossing Point-I in Zokhawthar, Champai district.
During the operation, one individual was apprehended and identified as Lalchina, a national of Myanmar. The Mizoram Police have initiated further investigations into the matter to uncover the source and intended destination of the seized contraband.
The successful operation underscores the commitment of the Assam Rifles and the Mizoram Police in combating the menace of drug trafficking and ensuring the safety and security of the region.
