Assam STF Executes Dual Raids, Seizes Heroin and Arrests Two Individuals
Guwahati: In a decisive move against drug trafficking, the Special Task Force (STF) of Assam executed simultaneous raids in the regions of South Sarania and Sawkuchi. These operations, based on actionable intelligence, resulted in the apprehension of two individuals and the seizure of a significant quantity of heroin.
The first raid was conducted in South Sarania, falling under the jurisdiction of the Paltan Bazar Police Station. During this operation, STF personnel detained a suspect and confiscated 28 vials of heroin, totaling 41 grams. Additionally, authorities recovered a mobile phone and a sum of cash from the suspect’s possession.
Concurrently, the STF team carried out a second raid in Sawkuchi, under the Basistha Police Station. This operation led to the arrest of another individual, who was found with 10 vials of heroin, weighing 13.3 grams.
The combined efforts of these raids have resulted in the seizure of 54.3 grams of heroin, underscoring the STF’s commitment to dismantling drug trafficking networks within the state. Both suspects remain in custody as further investigations are underway.
These operations highlight Assam’s proactive stance in combating the illicit drug trade, aiming to ensure the safety and well-being of its communities.
