Assam STF Seizes 239.5 Grams of Heroin in Betkuchi Raid, Drug Peddler Apprehended
Guwahati: In a meticulously planned operation, the Special Task Force (STF) of Assam Police apprehended a drug peddler at the Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT) in Betkuchi. Acting on specific intelligence inputs, the raid was conducted under the jurisdiction of Gorchuk Police Station.
During the operation, the STF team seized 19 soap boxes containing heroin. The contraband, after removing the packaging, weighed a total of 239.5 grams. Authorities also seized a mobile phone from the apprehended individual, believed to be used in illicit drug activities.
Officials stated that the arrested peddler was likely involved in a larger drug trafficking network. The seized heroin’s street value is estimated to be significant, highlighting the gravity of the operation.
Further investigations are underway to uncover the source of the drugs and other individuals involved in this illegal network.
