Assam STF Cracks Down on Drug Trade in Guwahati, Seizes Heroin
Guwahati, September 04, 2024: Acting on a reliable tip-off, the Special Task Force (STF) of Assam launched a targeted operation in Kahilipara under Dispur Police Station, Guwahati. The swift action led to the arrest of a suspect involved in drug trafficking. The suspect was found in possession of 22 vials of heroin, weighing a total of 35 grams.
During the operation, the authorities also seized a mobile handset and a scooty from the suspect. The items are believed to have been used in the illegal drug trade. The STF’s timely intervention highlights the ongoing efforts to curb drug trafficking in the region.
The operation is part of a broader crackdown on narcotics in Assam. The STF’s successful operation at Kahilipara demonstrates the state’s commitment to eradicating the drug menace. Further investigations are underway to uncover more links in the drug network.
