CO VDO Arrested for Bribery in Vigilance Operation Under Dalgaon Police Station
In a significant operation, the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Assam, apprehended Kushal Medhi, Circle Organisers, of Village Defense Organization (CO VDO) under Dalgaon Police Station. The arrest occurred at Chakragaon, Darrang district, after Medhi was caught red-handed accepting a bribe.
The operation unfolded following a complaint lodged by an individual seeking assistance with Village Defense Party (VDP) registration. Acting on the tip, a team from the Vigilance Directorate set up a trap to expose the alleged corruption. Medhi was taken into custody immediately after receiving the bribe.
The Directorate has intensified efforts to root out corruption in government departments. Officials stated that this action underscores their commitment to transparency and accountability in public services.
