Lakhimpur, February 15, 2024: In a recent crackdown, Bihpuria police successfully intercepted a night bus headed to Guwahati, unearthing a thriving fake gold merchant circle operating in Lakhimpur’s Bangalmara region.
On February 14, Police Officials, acting on a tip, conducted a thorough search on a night bus named Ryan Travels en route to Guwahati. Their vigilant efforts resulted in the discovery and seizure of two counterfeit gold pieces.

Three individuals involved in this illicit trade were apprehended by the Bihpuria police during the operation. Among them were Guljar Hussain of Mohghuli, Bangalmara, along with Abdul Alam and Taibur Rahman of Sonapur No. 2.
The arrests underscore the authorities’ commitment to eradicating fraudulent practices and maintaining the integrity of commerce in the region. Legal proceedings are now underway as investigations continue into the activities of the fake gold syndicate.
