BSF Foils Smuggling Attempt, Seizes Sugar Worth ₹10 Lakh on Indo-Bangladesh Border
In a strong action against cross-border smuggling, BSF intercepted two trucks loaded with sugar valued at ₹10 lakh near the Indo-Bangladesh border in the East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya.
The four Indian nationals involved in the smuggling were arrested by troops of the 193 Bn BSF. The consignment was being smuggled into Bangladesh territory. This swift action underlines the continued efforts of the BSF to curb the menace of smuggling in the area.
According to the officials, the sugar-loaded trucks were seized during a routine patrol. The vehicles, loaded with the contraband meant for illegal trade across the border, were also seized.
The apprehended ones are being interrogated to delve further into the investigation. Authorities are working on finding the network behind the smuggling attempt.
