Cachar Police Seize ₹2 Crore Worth of Codeine Syrup in Anti-Narcotics Operation
In a significant anti-narcotics operation, Cachar Police intercepted a vehicle transporting illegal substances near Damcherra. Acting on credible intelligence, the team conducted a thorough search and seized 11,100 bottles of Codeine-based cough syrup. The estimated market value of the recovered consignment is ₹2 crore.
The operation underscores Assam Police’s ongoing commitment to curbing drug-related crimes in the region. Sharing the news on his official ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) handle, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma lauded the efforts of the Cachar Police. He wrote, “Commendable efforts by Assam Police,” acknowledging their success in combating drug trafficking.
