Cachar Police Arrest Three Individuals, Seize 20,000 Suspected YABA Tablets
Silchar, May 23, 2024: Cachar Police intercepted three individuals at the Ghoongur National Highway bypass. The suspects, Nizam Uddin (56) from Jirighat, Dimduanlung Rongmei (50) from Jirighat, and Kamal Uddin (50) from Sildubui, were detained with a significant haul of suspected contraband.
Acting on specific intelligence regarding drug transportation, Police officers apprehended the trio at Ghoongur Zero Point. During the search, authorities discovered 20,000 suspected YABA tablets concealed in two packets. The seizure was conducted in the presence of witnesses to ensure procedural compliance.
The seized items were documented, and further legal actions were promptly initiated. The operation highlights the ongoing efforts of Cachar Police to combat drug trafficking in the region.
