Cachar Police Seize 300 Bags of Illegal Fertilizer, One Arrested in Late-Night Operation
In a significant midnight operation, Cachar Police intercepted a vehicle carrying 300 bags of illegal fertilizer suspected to be stolen. The vehicle, identified by registration number MZ 01 N 6276, was stopped around 12:30 AM on its way to transport the unauthorized cargo to a nearby state. The fertilizer was found without any valid documentation, raising suspicions of unlawful transportation.
Authorities apprehended one individual from Cachar district in connection with the incident. Apprehended individual was detained for their alleged roles in the attempted illegal transport.
Following this operation, a formal case has been registered under Silchar Police Station (PS Case No. 1078/24) under sections 61(2), 303(2), 317(2), and 317(4) BNS. Cachar Police seized the 300 bags of suspected stolen fertilizer, identified as Bharat DAP, along with the vehicle used for transport.
Investigations are ongoing, with the Cachar Police intensifying their efforts to curb illegal transport of goods in the region. This seizure underscores the district’s commitment to tackling smuggling and ensuring public safety.
