Cachar Police Intercept Vehicle, Seize Heroin Worth Rs 5 Crore
Silchar, June 22, 2024: In a significant breakthrough, the Cachar Police, acting on confidential intelligence, executed a special operation on NH 37 at Chalchapra in Cachar district. During this operation, Police officials intercepted a vehicle and, upon conducting a thorough search, recovered 974 grams of heroin. The seized narcotics, with an estimated market value of Rs 5 crore, were reportedly being transported from a neighboring state.
One individual has been apprehended in connection with the case. The successful operation has been met with commendations from various quarters, including a public acknowledgment from Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. “Good job Assam Police,” stated the Chief Minister on social media, lauding the efforts of the Cachar Police team.
