Cachar Police Seize 98,000 Yaba Tablets Worth ₹30 Crore in Massive Drug Bust

Guwahati; March 11, 2025: In a major anti-narcotics operation, Cachar Police seized 98,000 Yaba tablets worth ₹30 crore. The raid took place in Chandrapur Part II, Kakmara, under Lakhipur Police Station in Cachar district. Acting on credible intelligence, the police arrested a suspect and recovered ₹3.5 lakh in cash.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma praised the operation. Taking to ‘X,’ he wrote, “Kudos to Assam Police for their tireless efforts towards a #DrugFreeAssam.”

Authorities continue to strengthen their crackdown on drug trafficking across the state. The seizure marks another major success in Assam’s ongoing battle against narcotics.
