Guwahati, August 06, 2024: In a significant move to expedite the relief efforts for flood-affected communities, Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma convened a crucial meeting with officials from the Revenue Department. The meeting aimed to assess and finalize the modalities for the release of rehabilitation grants to those impacted by the recent floods.
Chief Minister Sarma underscored the importance of ensuring that no genuine name is excluded from the rehabilitation list. To further ensure transparency and inclusivity, the Chief Minister directed that the final list of beneficiaries be shared with the Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs). This step is intended to facilitate the inclusion of all affected individuals, thereby preventing any oversight.
Emphasizing the gravity of the situation, Dr. Sarma reiterated the government’s commitment to assist those who have faced significant hardships during the floods. The Chief Minister assured that substantial help would be extended to support the rebuilding of houses for those severely impacted.
