Citizenship (Amendment) Rules 2024 (CAA) Unveiled by Ministry of Home Affairs Ahead of Lok Sabha Polls

A spokesperson from the Ministry outlined the key provisions of these rules, emphasizing their significance in facilitating the application process for Indian Citizenship.
“The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has officially notified today the Citizenship (Amendment) Rules 2024, as delineated under the Citizenship Amendment Act, 2019 (CAA-2019). These rules are instrumental in enabling individuals eligible under CAA-2019 to initiate the application process for the grant of Indian Citizenship,” stated the spokesperson.
The Citizenship (Amendment) Rules 2024 introduce a modernized application mechanism, predominantly online in nature. Eligible individuals are encouraged to utilize the dedicated web portal established by the Ministry of Home Affairs, as elucidated in the official notifications.
“The application process has been streamlined to a fully online mode, underscoring the Ministry’s commitment to efficiency and accessibility. A dedicated web portal has been provided to facilitate the submission of applications, ensuring a user-friendly experience for eligible individuals,” highlighted the spokesperson.
