CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Reviews NFSA Progress, Plans Beneficiary Programs for December
Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma held a video conference with district commissioners to assess the progress of the National Food Security Act (NFSA). The review focused on including new beneficiaries for ration card distribution under the program.
The Chief Minister directed officials to conduct thorough verifications to ensure ration cards reach all eligible beneficiaries. Special attention was urged for vulnerable groups, including widows and divyangjans, to prioritize their inclusion.
During the meeting, CM Sarma announced a series of programs to be held in December across districts. These initiatives will include distributing bicycles, scooters, scholarships, flood relief, and waivers for microfinance institution (MFI) loans.
He advised the district commissioners to organize these programs efficiently and transparently. The aim is to provide timely benefits to deserving individuals and strengthen public welfare.
The Chief Minister’s instructions reflect the state’s commitment to equitable resource distribution and its focus on enhancing social welfare programs.
