Dhubri, April 12, 2024: The serene town of Dhubri finds itself engulfed in a haze of dust pollution, a direct consequence of the unchecked and unlawful movement of earth-laden vehicles. Adjacent to the town, miscreants have brazenly embarked upon illegal excavation activities beyond the confines of the designated G.P.S. areas assigned by the Authority, further exacerbating environmental concerns.
The gravity of the situation is underscored by the flagrant abuse of regulations governing transit passes, with vehicles embarking on multiple trips throughout the day and night under the guise of a single challan. Such blatant disregard for legal protocol has left the residents of Dhubri exasperated and aggrieved, prompting fervent demands for immediate corrective measures.
Citizens clamor for the mandatory covering of earth-laden vehicles with tarpaulin and the implementation of road-wetting practices to mitigate the adverse effects of dust pollution.
