Fraudster Arrested in Dhubri for Issuing Fake Job Appointment Letters to Youths
Dhubri, August 21, 2024: In Dhubri, a major job scam has come to light, with Rohit Sarkar at the center of it. He allegedly collected between ₹5,000 and ₹10,000 from hundreds of youths, promising them government jobs. But Sarkar did more than just take their money; he also issued fake appointment letters.
Initially, the appointment date was set for August 20. However, Sarkar later changed it to August 21, instructing the youths to report to the Dhubri Central GST office. When the day arrived, hundreds of hopeful candidates showed up, only to discover the appointment letters were fake.
Angry and frustrated, the group of youths went to Sarkar’s residence on RK Mission Road in Dhubri town. They created a ruckus, demanding answers. Police from the Dhubri B N College Town Out Post quickly arrived on the scene. They apprehended Rohit Sarkar and took him into custody. During the raid, the police recovered numerous fake appointment letters, government seals, and other incriminating documents from his residence.
Shockingly, Sarkar had even provided 10 days of training to those who received the fake appointment letters, further deepening the deceit.
