Corruption Unveiled: Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Nabs Alamganj Gram Panchayat Secretary
Dhubri, March 13, 2024: In a recent development, the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption has successfully apprehended Nurul Islam Mollah, the Secretary of Gauripur’s Alamganj Gram Panchayat, red-handed. Mr. Mollah was caught in his office premises accepting a sum of Rs. 10,000. This illicit transaction was linked to the sanctioning of funds under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) scheme.
The incident underscores the persistent issue of corruption that continues to plague administrative bodies responsible for the implementation of crucial welfare schemes aimed at rural development.
