DMCH Doctors Join Nationwide Strike Demanding Justice for Kolkata Doctor’s Murder
Dhubri, August 17, 2024: In response to the tragic rape and murder of a resident doctor at R G Kar Medical College & Hospital in Kolkata, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) has launched a nationwide strike. The 24-hour protest, which began on Saturday morning, has led to a suspension of all non-emergency medical services across the country.
At Dhubri Medical College & Hospital (DMCH), doctors have actively joined the strike. They have organized protests, donning black badges and holding placards to express their outrage. The demonstrations at DMCH highlight the medical community’s solidarity and demand for justice.
Protesting doctors are calling for the execution of the rapists involved in the crime. This nationwide strike underscores the grave concern within the healthcare sector regarding the safety and protection of medical professionals.
