Kokrajhar, February 03, 2024: Tension grips Kokrajhar district as the recovery of two bodies, both victims of stabbing with sharp weapons, raises concerns. The bodies were discovered separately in the Diplai Beel area, sparking a wave of unrest in the region. The victims have been identified as Pradip Kumar Basumatary (50) from Balaghat in Kokrajhar district and Mohammad Badshah Shaikh (60) from Kajaikata village in Bilasipara, Dhubri district.
A police team, led by Kokrajhar district’s Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime Branch), Prithviraj Rajkhowa, swiftly reached the scene to initiate an investigation. The bodies were recovered and sent for autopsy to shed light on the mysterious circumstances surrounding the double murder. The incident has left many questions unanswered, including the motive, identity of the perpetrators, and the reasons behind the killings.
