Significant Drug Bust in Guwahati’s Jalukbari: Two Arrested, Substantial Quantity of Heroin Seized
Guwahati, May 25, 2024: Acting on reliable intelligence inputs, the Special Task Force (STF) of the Assam Police executed a successful raid in the Jalukbari locality of Guwahati on Friday afternoon, leading to a substantial narcotics seizure and the apprehension of two individuals, including a woman.
The operation, conducted at the residence of Pranjit Das located at Janabandhu Path, Durgasarobar hillside, under the jurisdiction of Jalukbari Police Station, resulted in the seizure of 46 vials of suspected heroin with a total weight of 61.5 grams. Additionally, the STF recovered Rs 680 in cash, three mobile phones, and 250 empty vials from the scene.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Pranjit Das, 36, a resident of Jalukbari, and Hasina Begum alias Maina, 27, originally from Kachua Gaon village under Bilasipara Police Station. Both suspects are currently undergoing legal processing following their detention.
