Assam STF Seizes Heroin Worth Lakhs, Arrests Drug Trafficker in Guwahati Operation
Guwahati, September 28, 2024: Acting on reliable intelligence, the Special Task Force (STF) of Assam launched a drug bust operation at Lalmati Forest Road, under the jurisdiction of Basistha Police Station in Guwahati. During the operation, officials apprehended an individual found with 74 vials containing heroin, weighing a total of 86 grams. The seized heroin has an estimated value in the illegal market, making this a significant crackdown.
STF also seized a mobile handset in the possession of the arrested suspect. In addition, a scooty used for the transportation of the narcotics was seized during the raid. The arrested individual is now under investigation for his involvement in drug trafficking.
The successful operation highlights Assam’s ongoing efforts to curb the drug menace. The STF is intensifying its actions to combat the rising narcotics trade, with this operation serving as a strong message against illegal activities.
