Joint Police Operation Busts Drug Trafficking Network in Assam
March 05, 2025: In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, Assam Police seized heroin worth ₹5 crore during a joint anti-narcotics operation. The raid, conducted by Golaghat and Sivasagar Police, took place at Haluwating in Sivasagar district.
During the operation, officials recovered 992.13 grams of heroin. The drugs were concealed inside two Bolero vehicles, which were also seized. Authorities arrested four individuals in connection with the case.
Police sources confirmed that the operation was based on intelligence inputs. Further investigations are underway to identify links to larger drug networks. Assam Police continues its efforts to combat the drug menace in the state.
