Imposter Arrested in Guwahati for Impersonating Assistant Commissioner of Police
Guwahati, August 18, 2024: The Crime Branch of Guwahati Police has apprehended a 24-year-old man, Rinku Kalita, from Ganeshpara, Guwahati, on charges of impersonating an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP). Kalita was detained after being spotted in full police uniform at Guwahati city, posing as an ACP from the Jalukbari area.
The incident occurred when Kalita was caught red-handed by police officers on duty. His suspicious behavior and improper credentials led to his immediate arrest. The authorities are now investigating his potential involvement in other criminal activities.
The arrest of Rinku Kalita has raised concerns over the possible misuse of police identity for unlawful purposes. The Crime Branch is conducting a thorough investigation to determine the extent of his activities and any connections to other criminal elements.
