Fatal Consequences: Man Beaten to Death in Land Dispute in Dhubri
Dhubri, March 10, 2024: A land dispute in Dhubri has escalated tragically, resulting in a deadly confrontation. In Bogulamari village, situated in the Bhasanirchar area adjacent to A.M.Co. Road near Dhubri town, a man lost his life following a brutal assault amid a longstanding conflict over land.
The individuals involved, Sonaullah Sheikh and Abdus Sobur Sheikh from Bogulamari village in the Bhasanirchar area (under Bazar Town Out Post in Dhubri), had been entangled in a dispute over land and borders. Today, tensions peaked as a disagreement emerged between the two parties regarding the demarcation of the boundary wall on the contested land.
The altercation took a fatal turn when Sonaullah Sheikh suffered severe injuries in an alleged assault by Abdus Sabur Sheikh’s faction. Urgently, Sonaullah Sheikh was transported to Dhubri Medical College and Hospital, where doctors, unfortunately, declared him dead.
The incident has cast a pall of tension over the village, intensifying hostilities between the conflicting sides. The dire consequences of this land-centric conflict serve as a stark reminder of the complexities and repercussions that can arise from disputes over territorial boundaries.
