Five Family Members, Including Children, Suffer Food Poisoning in Gossaigaon
Gossaigaon, May 20, 2024: A severe case of food poisoning has affected five members of a single family in Choto Garjan village, Gossaigaon sub-division. The incident occurred after the family consumed broiler chicken meat, reportedly sourced from Dotma in Kokrajhar district.
The affected individuals are identified as Krinju Brahma, Himangsu Narzary, Anjima Brahma, Tilak Brahma, and Mukhi Brahma. Among them, Krinju Brahma’s condition is reported to be serious and he is currently receiving treatment at Ranendra Narayan Basumatary Hospital in Gossaigaon. The other family members are said to be out of danger.
Symptoms including vomiting and diarrhea began shortly after the family consumed the chicken. Local health authorities have been notified and are likely to conduct further investigations to determine the cause of the contamination.
This incident underscores the need for stringent food safety measures and prompt medical intervention to prevent such occurrences. The local community is urged to exercise caution and ensure the quality of food products to avoid similar incidents in the future.
